What is a "Baraat"?
The Baraat is a parade where the groom's friends and family lead him to the wedding site. The whole Baraat is accompanied by a dholak, or Indian drum, and make their way with much dancing and merrymaking to the entrance of the wedding site, where they are ceremonially greeted by the bride's family.What clothing should I wear?
Feel free to wear whatever fancy clothing you want, whether that is Indian or American! If you want to wear Indian clothing but don't have any, you can purchase clothes online or in a number of good shops depending on what city you are in. All levels of Indian dress are acceptable for girls, from sariis to langas to kurta pajamas. Feel free to email or call one of us if you have any questions.What is the schedule of events?
The schedule of events for the wedding is as follows: 2:00 pm: Baraat starts, Front Gate of the Hindu Mandir Temple
2:30 pm: Wedding Ceremony Commences, Auditorium, Hindu Mandir Temple
5:00 pm: Cocktail Hour, Elm Creek Chalet
6:00 pm: Dinner & Dancing to folllow, Elm Creek Chalet
